| Comments | The meters and key were used with the famous T1154 / R1155 radio installation that was fitted to many Allied Air Force heavy bombers, Naval patrol aircraft and marine craft, as well as a number of post-war airliners. The Direction Finding meter (or Left/Right meter) was used to show when the DF aerial of the aircraft was pointing at a transmitter, allowing accurate navigational fixes to be made. The key was designed to be fixed to the Wireless Operators desk, for keying the transmitter during CW (continous wave - Morse) or MCW (modulated carrier wave, still using morse code, but can be received on a normal short wave receiver) communications. |
