| Comments | These units were made for the US army to allow the use of the RCA AR88 receivers to be used in a mobile arrangement. The unit provides a 250v high tension supplyfrom a 6v dc input (vehicle battery), the heater supplies coming straight from the battery. The unit has a non-sychronous vibrator driving a transdormer, with the output rectified by an 0Z4 cold cathode rectifier. The switch changes taps on the transformer to compensate for lower battery voltage, or ageing of the rectifier valve. I also use these units as a convenient HT source for homebrew recievers. |
