||

| Manufacturer | Hacker Radio Limited |

| Age | Early 1960s |
| Service Data | Yes |
| Condition | Fair, could do with a good clean! |
| Dimensions | 9"x6"x4" (225 x 150 x 100mm) |
| Comments | A nice little LW / MW (the third button
is to switch off) set, based on the dreaded AF series
transistors, though this one still works! A typical
Hacker design with the audio amplifier on a seperate PCB
(see below) at the botom of the case.
The batteries are the Ever Ready PP7s that it came with, very flat, and since removed in case of leakage (they were about 15 years old). Having two batteries makes this set expensive to run, especially as there is no provision for an external power supply, which is probably why this set ended up on our local tip. The set does have sockets for an earphone and an external (car) aerial though. Unusually for a Hacker, this set is not fitted with a turntable. The case is Rexine covered plywood. |
